Polarwall was selected for the construction of 15 new homes in March, Cambridgeshire, as part of the SmartLife initiative involving the Building Research Establishment, Cambridgeshire County Council and SmartLife. The development included two- and three-bedroom properties for shared ownership and open-market sale.

This was the contractor's first Polarwall project, combining the groundworks and Polarwall construction within a more efficient programme. Two shuttering carpenters completed the walls, engineered timber floors and installation of the first-floor bathroom pods for all 15 homes in 21 weeks.

The project demonstrated how quickly an experienced workforce could adopt the Polarwall building method. One of the carpenters subsequently went on to complete further Polarwall projects in France and Croatia.
