Having been appointed to advise on transport, flood risk/drainage and utilities relating to the proposed development of 150 dwellings on this site, Ardent was retained to prepare and give evidence at the Public Inquiry into the appeal against the refusal of planning permission by the local planning authority. One of the reasons for refusal was the level of car parking provision, while a Rule 6 party objected that the appeal scheme did not allow the future provision of a bus route through the site. The Inspector agreed that from evidence provided on car ownership data by dwelling type, tenure and size for the local area derived from the Census, the level of parking was adequate in this location, and that the lack of provision for the bus route did not count materially against the scheme
