HVACR Sponsor Ellon Academy in Kilimanjaro Climb - 09 December 2014

41 secondary pupils from Ellon Academy began their journey trekking the Pare Mountains and Longido as part of a cultural tourism program, lead by local Tanzanian guides. Mt Kilimanjaro exceeded teacher and classmates expectations alike, facing the harsh weather and struggling to cope with the affects of the altitude made it difficult however, extremely rewarding reaching the summit, Uhuru (Freedom) peak at 5895m with stunning views across Kenya and Tanzania. During their time in Tanzania, the pupils also completed a few charitable projects including, decorating and securing a house to be used as an orphanage for vulnerable young children. HVAC & Refrigeration Engineering Limited, Managing Director, Raymond Davidson said, “We were pleased to sponsor Ellon Academy with their climb up Mt Kilimanjaro and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate each and every one of them for the hard work they put in.”
