Closing the Loop: Recycled Foam Solutions That Don’t Cost the Earth

24-09-2025

At Zouch, recycling isn’t a tagline—it’s how we design. Working closely with our manufacturing partners and customers, we’re continually increasing the proportion of recycled and recyclable materials across our foam portfolio so that products can be reused multiple times throughout their life cycle. The result? Protective performance you can rely on, with a smaller footprint.

Why choose recycled foam?

  • Cost-effective: Durable materials that extend service life and reduce replacement costs.

  • Sustainable: Circular use of resources keeps plastics out of landfill and supports carbon-reduction goals.

  • Built to last: High resistance to wear and tear, with options engineered for impact protection, cushioning and insulation.

  • Made your way: Cut to size, available in a range of densities and colours to suit your project.

Our recycled & eco ranges

ZOUCH eFoam NXL (Recycled, Non-Cross-Linked PE)

A closed-cell, non-toxic polyethylene foam with excellent stability and recovery for cushioning and impact protection. Options include anti-static and/or flame-retardant grades, low-abrasion surfaces and sound-absorbing variants. The range incorporates approximately 65–100% recycled resin content.
Typical uses: protective packaging (from delicate items to heavy-duty dunnage), electronic protection, furnishings.

ZOUCH eFoam 3R (100% Recycled Post-Industrial, Cross-Linked PE)

A lightweight, hard-wearing solution for outdoor surfaces where energy and shock absorption matter. Provides insulation and drainage to cope with wet weather conditions.
Typical uses: playground and play-area underlay, rooftop gardens, patios and balconies, sports and leisure facilities.

ZOUCHrecon 6/8/10/12 (Reconstituted Polyurethane “Recon” Foam)

Made from tightly compressed offcuts of polyurethane, producing a robust, multi-coloured chip foam. Structurally stable, lightweight, insulating, sound-absorbent, hypoallergenic and durable—ideal where toughness and value are key.
Typical uses: protective transit packaging, noise control in fans and blowers, gym mats and sports flooring, church kneelers, and cushioning for sofas, caravans, mattresses, bar stools and chairs.

ZOUCH eFoam R2/R/R4 (Recyclable, Fine-Cell PE)

A low-density, odourless, non-cross-linked polyethylene foam that’s 100% recyclable. Its soft touch and fine cell structure offer excellent surface protection, impact cushioning and a premium look for display packaging.
Typical uses: speciality and presentation packaging, case inserts, cushioned packaging, sports mats.

ZOUCH ecoCell (Biodegradable, Compostable Foam)

A starch-based, non-toxic packaging foam that is 100% compostable. Offers impressive cushioning and thermal insulation while enabling end-of-life disposal that goes beyond recycling.
Typical uses: protective packaging where compostable materials are preferred.
