Westgate are excited to announce the launch of a first-to-market product to tackle roof light heat and glare issues; Easipanel.
Easipanel is designed for factories and warehouses where there is a requirement to reduce heat and/or glare from entering via roof lights, but there is a need to maintain natural light.
Grant Godwin, Product Development Engineer, commented:
“After working extensively within the warehouse, logistics and manufacturing sectors for many years, it became apparent to Westgate that there was a real gap in the market for this kind of product, and that it could be extremely beneficial to a wide range of companies. After undergoing a 10 month development process to ensure the very best components were sourced and manufactured, Westgate are ready to launch Easipanel, and we are confident that it will be well received, especially after being used already at a high profile retail chain warehouse.”
How does Easipanel work?
Easipanel is manufactured using multiwall polycarbonate sheets that are custom designed and installed to suit your buildings bespoke roof light configuration. The installation methods and components used ensure that no damage is done to the existing roof or roof lights, which is a real benefit in rented premises.
Depending on the specific environments, a heat reduction of approximately 53% can be achieved, as well as approximately 55% shading coefficient. This can be done whilst still maintaining up to 50% of natural light, which is more than is achieved with the alternative of painting roof light panels.
Easipanel also works to reduce glare by diffusing transmitted light and can prevent UV fading.
Polycarbonate panels are guaranteed for 10 years against loss of light due to UV degradation (Manufacturer’s warranty), and the roof mounting system (the method of fixing the complete panel to the roof) is guaranteed for 3 years (Westgate warranty).
Why Easipanel was developed
David Collins-Lafferty, Marketing Manager, commented on the development of the Easipanel solution:
“Being a proactive company and working with our customers closely highlighted that there were some obvious opportunities and driving forces behind the need for this product. These included an increase in mezzanine floor usage and high bay racking for storage, both of which were placing products closer to roof lights, mezzanine floors also place employees closer, making them both susceptible to the adverse effects of heat. With the summer just passed glare from roof lights was also an issue on health and safety for some customers, especially those with heavy forklift traffic.”
In these instances, Easipanel is the ideal solution to prevent product spoilage, reduce health and safety risk from glare and drastically reduce product and package fading from UV.
