Project details:
The Colwyn Bay Waterfront Project combines the renewal of coastal defences with regeneration improvements, creating a modern, sustainable and attractive waterfront for over a 2 mile length of promenade in the popular North Wales resort.
The promenade is divided from the town by the busy A55 North Wales Expressway and the lines of the North Wales Coast Railway. The pedestrian route from the town centre to the promenade passes via a short tunnel beneath the railway lines, emerging opposite Victoria Pier, at which point an attractive and informative new signage feature has been installed.
Using standard concrete blocks from our Core Curved Seating Range, Furnitubes developed the signage design that utilises a sandwich of 3 heavy duty steel plates, with the lettering as cut-outs in the grey-coloured outer plates to reveal the blue of the central plate, and with individual stainless steel letters invisibly fixed to the curved concrete blocks.
Two signage assemblies were supplied, each with location and destination wording in both Welsh and English.
