Project details:
Owned and managed by Oxford University, Begbroke Science Park, is located in Oxford and has been the home of research facilities since 1960. In recent years the park has almost doubled in size and hosts more than 20 research groups from six different University departments.
In 2015 planning permission was granted for a £6.7million network consisting of four new innovation centres: Begbroke Innovation Accelerator; Harwell Innovation Hub; Oxford BioEscalator; and the UKAEA Culham Advanced Manufacturing Hub; all centres will be designed to drive business and innovation to the Oxfordshire economy.
Begbroke Innovation Centre - the new multi-use building at Begbroke Science Park will help small and medium-sized science businesses take their projects to market, and provide facilities for researchers from the University. The open outside space of the new building comprises of a number of straight and curved gabion walls, which on their own do not provide any suitable seating for users. Furnitubes supplied a number of Lapa gabion seat and bench platforms for the new building, which were installed on the gabion walls outside the facility offering new comfortable seating provision for everyone.
