Following a government initiative, anyone generating renewable energy from April 2010 can be paid for everything they generate; including the units they use themselves. Solar PV has been around for many years and the interest has always been high for what is essentially an energy source for the future. The problem has been the long term payback of a solar PV system. However, thanks to the government backed Cash for Clean Energy Scheme, payback is much shorter and the current Feed in Tariff rates present solar PV as a serious financial investment.
