How Elite Precast Concrete helps you stay ahead of risk

Expertise backed by experience

With decades of combined experience in precast concrete manufacturing, Elite Precast Concrete has built a strong reputation for quality, flexibility and innovation.

Tailored solutions

No two sites are exactly the same. As Owen Batham, Sales and Marketing Director at Elite Precast Concrete, explains, the team helps specifiers and clients adapt standard products or develop bespoke options to suit the brief. Whether it’s custom-height bollards, specialist finishes, branded barriers or accelerated delivery for urgent deployments, Elite can support the requirement.

Why perimeter security matters

Whether it’s a busy pedestrian plaza, a corporate headquarters, an event venue or a public transport interchange, the need to manage access, deter unauthorised vehicle entry and protect people and assets is clear. Poorly secured perimeters can lead to vehicle incursions, vandalism and unauthorised access — all of which carry safety, reputational and financial risk.

By installing correctly designed, high-strength solutions from Elite Precast Concrete, you create a clear physical and visual boundary. It signals that an area is controlled and helps ensure people, vehicles and materials only enter under the right conditions.

An all-round service

From design guidance (including lifting and installation information) and logistics through to next-day delivery for many units, Elite helps ensure your barrier or bollard installation runs smoothly and delivers the intended result.

Cost-effective protection

While the upfront investment matters, the long-term value of high-strength precast assets is significant: minimal maintenance, a long service life and reduced risk exposure. Customers often highlight the reliability of the products and the speed of service as key factors in keeping projects on schedule.

How to choose the right solution for your site

When planning a barrier or bollard installation, Owen recommends considering a few core factors.

Site risk profile
Is the area pedestrian-only? Does vehicle access need controlling? Are there known risks of vehicle intrusion?

Traffic flow and access needs
Do certain vehicles still need access (such as emergency or service vehicles) while others must be restricted?

Visual and urban design context
Bollards and barriers should sit comfortably within their surroundings, not look like an afterthought.

Installation and logistics
Factor in ground conditions, site access, lifting requirements and future flexibility, such as whether units may need repositioning.

Maintenance and lifecycle
Choose materials that provide long-term performance with minimal upkeep, such as concrete.

Elite’s team can work through these considerations with you and recommend the most suitable product — whether that’s a standard concrete bollard, the playful-yet-robust Minion-Bollards®, or a full interlocking barrier system.

Securing the future — one barrier at a time

In a fast-changing security landscape, the infrastructure you choose today should be future-proof. Whether you’re safeguarding a public space, an event site, a high-security facility or the wider public realm, the right solutions should deliver:

Visible deterrence
Well-positioned barriers and bollards make it immediately clear that access is controlled.

Proven performance
Materials and designs need the strength and durability to resist misuse or attack.

Adaptability and longevity
Products should remain effective and relevant as the site evolves.

Peace of mind
With the right measures in place, you can focus on running your operation.

With Elite Precast Concrete’s security barrier and bollard systems, you’re investing in more than precast units — you’re investing in a safer, better-protected environment.

Key solutions from Elite Precast Concrete

Concrete bollards

Elite’s standard bollards and Minion-Bollards® are cast from high-strength concrete and designed to withstand severe impacts and unauthorised vehicle incursions.

They’re effective because they combine strength and durability (using 50 N/mm² concrete for strong resistance to collision and vandalism) with low maintenance and long-term weather resistance. They’re also versatile, supporting traffic management and pedestrian protection, while offering strong visual clarity by clearly marking restricted areas. Where needed, they can be customised with paint, reflective strips or signage, or integrated into wider traffic management schemes.

Typical applications include: along footways and pedestrian precincts to prevent vehicle crossover; at entrances to shopping centres, airports or railway stations to control access; and in car parks or corporate campuses to manage traffic flow and channel vehicles safely.

Jersey barriers

Elite’s interlocking concrete safety and security barriers (often referred to as “Jersey barriers”) are designed to protect perimeters from vehicle intrusion or attack.

Their heavy weight and interlocking design helps resist powerful impact, while still supporting rapid deployment and the option to reposition units as site needs change. They can be used for a range of scenarios beyond security, including traffic management, flood defence and rockfall protection. Manufactured from high-strength concrete (50 N/mm²), they can also be supplied with custom finishes or branding where required.

Typical applications include: protecting high-security sites such as utilities, data centres and government buildings; securing construction and redevelopment perimeters where vehicle control is essential; and providing robust barriers for public events or pop-up installations.
