Yarls Wood Regular Risk Assessment

Yarls Wood has been a privately run immigration removal centre since 2007. It works in hand with the UK Borders Agency in holding those seeking to enter the UK whilst their applications to stay are assessed. The current operators, mindful of the need to provide safe conditions for those in their care, have initiated an annual programme of risk assessment tests to ascertain the internal conditions within the ductwork systems and then decide if they need cleaning. Ductbusters have been retained for a number of years to conduct these tests and provide recommendations which in some cases have led to the cleaning of the ductwork systems and air handling units to B&ESA TR19 and CIBSE TM26 standards
