Fire Dampers Tested

Wythenshaw Hospital is a 900 bed, major acute teaching hospital on the outskirts of Manchester. This site was radically improved some years ago as part of a PFI project which involved the installation of many thousands of meters of ductwork. In excess of 1400 fire dampers were also installed to help prevent the spread of fire and three years ago it was decided that in order to comply with BS9999 they should all be drop tested. Ductbusters submitted a project proposal and will shortly be completing the work for the third time. A comprehensive report has been submitted on each occasion indicating if each damper is operational or in need of remedial action.
