DJ Evans is East Anglia's premier independent engineers and builders merchant. Family run, with a history stretching back more than a century, the business has built its name on straightforward trading and genuine product knowledge rather than volume alone.

The group now operates 9 branches across Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, giving trade and DIY customers alike a local point of contact backed by a much wider stock range than any single branch could hold on its own. Fixings and fasteners remain at the core of the business, with over 150 years of combined expertise sitting behind the counter. Around that core sits a genuinely wide offer: building materials, PPE and workwear, woodworking equipment, hand and power tools, welding equipment and architectural ironmongery.

Over the last 15 years DJ Evans has grown through the acquisition of established merchant businesses in Rougham, Brandon, Mildenhall, Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich, alongside its long standing branches in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. Each acquisition has added its own local knowledge and customer relationships to the group, rather than being absorbed and stripped back. The result is a network that behaves like a collection of proper local merchants, while giving customers access to group buying power and a shared range.

DJ Evans works with quality assured manufacturers across the industry, including many of the trade's best known names in tools, fixings and workwear. On top of the core merchant offer, the business runs a set of practical services built around how sites and workshops actually operate: an inventory control system, lintels services, plot lotting, ironmongery scheduling, product procurement and key cutting.
