Aim: To design surface water drainage for housing developments which avoid, reduce and delay the discharge of rainfall run-off to watercourses and public sewers using SuDS techniques. This will protect the receiving waters from pollution and minimise the risk of flooding and other environmental damage in watercourses.
It is very important from an early stage in any development that drainage is considered, and impact dealt with to ensure the site development encompasses all the necessary requirements to meet with the required standards and constraints to meet planning requirements.
Drainage can form simple private systems connecting into existing adopted sewers but can also form large adopted systems with integrated SUDS structures to control and manage run off rates from proposed development sites
