Following on from any flood study or just a simple site investigation, CPLC Water can design and install flood alleviation measures to help protect affected properties against future events. Alleviation measures can comprise a number of methods including upgrading culverts, sluices and weirs that regulate flow; and removing silt debris under bridges. Flood defence walls and embankments are the traditional method of protecting low lying communities and infrastructure and if not already in place will often be required when other natural systems fail. Such methods require a high level detailed study including hydraulic modelling to ensure properties up and downstream are not affected. CPLC Water can provide these assessments and are able to undertake their construction.
