PLAIN TILES

Plain tiles for many generations have been the roof covering of choice in many areas. In the early days there were many small cottage industries producing peg tiles with no standard sizing and poking holes in the top for the wooden peg to go into for hooking onto the roof battens. They are nowadays a standard size of 6 ½ x 10 ½ inches and available in concrete, clay machine made and clay handmade with pegs tiles still produced for certain projects, available in many different colours and finishes to suit all tastes.
