RANKL or TNFSF11 is a protein that is made by the TNFSF11 gene in humans. It is also known as tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 11. This gene codes for a member of the TNF cytokine family, which is an attractant for osteoprotegerin. TNFSF11 is essential in the differentiation and activation of osteoclasts.
