Transforming growth factor alpha (TGF alpha, TNF-alpha) is a protein that is encoded by the TGFA gene in humans. It is produced in; brain cells, keratinocytes and macrophages. It is a mitogenic polypeptide belonging to the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family.
