New Mitred Headwall Range

03-03-2026

Althon mitred headwalls for pipework up to and including 600 mm are fibre-reinforced precast concrete open inlets designed to allow surface water runoff to enter SuDS features, or to act as an outlet or overflow.

The inlet has a 1:3 (18-degree) profile that matches the surrounding ground, in line with guidelines for the construction and adoption of swales and ponds. A recess is formed on either side of the unit to key it securely into the slope of the swale or pond, helping to prevent movement or slippage.

Our mitred headwalls can be supplied with stainless steel or galvanised steel straight bar gratings. A top and bottom bracket locates the grating bars, which are secured in place with a locking bar at the top. Each bar can be removed individually to make maintenance easier.

The grating is positioned within an 80 mm deep recess in the face of the unit to help protect it from damage during routine maintenance, such as mowing.

We can also factory-fit inline non-return valves, including WaStop valves, to our mitred headwalls.
