From The Anvil designs are drawn and hand forged in the traditional fashion of English blacksmithing. External Beeswax - This is manufactured using From The Anvil’s unique anti-corrosive beeswax. During the manufacturing process, From The Anvil’s Black products are baked in a high-temperature oven, giving them durable, corrosion-resistant qualities. Satin Brass - These products are made from solid brass. Favoured for its bright, bold appearance, Polished Chrome is well suited to contemporary designs and offers a smooth, mirror finish when polished. This finish is very versatile, with a high sheen appearance that works well with warm tones and cool, contemporary settings alike. Matt Black - They are forged from a base of solid steel and then baked in a high-temperature oven to create a subtle, black patina. When polished, it offers an impressive depth of reflection. This rich colour offers a beautiful contrast against the repolished surface areas. This finish is bright, reflective, and extremely versatile.

Polished Nickel - These products are manufactured from a solid brass base with high-quality plating. The From The Anvil Traditional Letterbox is recommended to be used on composite and UPVC doors. This finish is low sheen and offers a frosted, matt look. These products offer great strength and have extremely resilient corrosion-resistant properties which make them an excellent choice for coastal locations. Unlacquered Brass - They are made from solid, unlacquered brass and have soft, golden hues which offer a depth of reflection. This refined finish is extremely versatile, with a distinctly contemporary feel that works especially well in modern interiors. Polished Marine Stainless Steel (316) - This finish is grade 316 and manufactured with high concentrations of chromium and nickel. During the final stages of manufacturing, we apply a durable, matt lacquer to this finish which helps preserve its distinctive tones. Aged Bronze - These products are manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. Available below in - Aged Brass - This finish is intentionally tarnished using an accelerated ageing process that causes a dark patina to gather around the edges and recesses of the design. To restore these products to their former glory, simply polish using a dry cloth and some Brasso. If left untouched, this finish will oxidise over time and naturally age to create a historically beautiful look. It is supplied as a full kit and contains a tunnel and brushes to reduce drafts and insulate the door and the sleeve inside the letterbox also protects the door from moisture and masks the aperture cutting. A high-quality matt lacquer is then applied to their surface for protection. Due to the process used to age the metal, this finish is very dark and has a rich, matt appearance. Black - This is a popular choice in traditional settings. During the final stages of manufacturing, our Satin Brass products are brushed with a satin wheel to give them their distinctive appearance.
