Polished Chrome - Made from a base of solid brass coated with durable chrome plating to give an exceedingly high-sheen finish. Beeswax - After forging, these products are dipped into hot beeswax which allows them to retain their original colours ranging from blue to deep ochre. During the final stages of manufacturing, we apply a durable, matt lacquer to this finish which helps preserve its distinctive tones. The secure stop is non-load bearing and therefore is not subject to the requirements of BS EN 14351-1. If left untouched, this finish will oxidise over time and naturally age to create a historically beautiful look. Antique Pewter - Offers the same protection as Pewter Patina but has a solid Brass base rather than steel. From The Anvil designs are drawn and hand forged in the traditional fashion of English blacksmithing. All our Beeswax ironmongery offers a subtle matt richness and is a more natural, and far softer, alternative to a black powder-coated finish. This secure stop makes it ideal for adding extra security to upper floors, particularly for homes with children, these lockable stops are insurance compliant.

To restore these products to their former glory, simply polish them using a dry cloth and some Brasso. Polished Nickel - Manufactured from a solid brass base with high-quality plating. Due to the process used to age the metal, this finish is very dark and has a rich, matt appearance. Polished Bronze - Manufactured from mild steel with a zinc electroplated finish to perfectly complement our Polished Bronze range of ironmongery. During the manufacturing process, our Black products are baked in a high-temperature oven, giving them durable, corrosion-resistant qualities.
