The bolt through fixings add extra strength/security to the handle or knob and prevent the problem of the handle being "ripped" from the door, a problem often associated with this type of "rigid" fixing and hollow doors. Then, the door handle or door knob can be placed onto it. The dummy spindle does not pass through the door like regular spindles. The Eurospec Half Set Fixing Plate is a fixed / dummy spindle that is used to fix a mortice handle or knob in position, generally used to give a solid fix to a handle on a slave door on double opening french doors. Instead, it is fixed to the face of the door. Suitable for all Carlisle Brass/Eurospec bolt through door furniture. The dummy spindle is a standard metric 8mm Spindle. Not suitable for handles/knobs with threaded spindles. The dummy spindle locates into the rear of the door handle and does not rotate, holding the lever or knob in place, and preventing it from turning. Supplied as a half set, for one side of the door.
