The Locking version of this window handle locks by way of a subtle lug with a slot for an Allen key. The Mortice Plate is the most common type of plate, used on standard casement windows where the fastener 'tongue' can latch into the frame. This casement window fastener is available in both Locking and Non-Locking variations. The Hook Plate is for use on 'flush' casement windows, where it is not possible to use the frame for the fastener to hold the window closed.
