If desired, this can be easily removed by using light oil (such as WD 40) and a fine grade wire wool. Light surface rust may be present or develop when used in damp environments. This strap hinge is made from cast iron with an antique finish. Supplied in SINGLES complete with fixings. Hand-finished and made using traditional methods, to achieve a natural authentic finish that will naturally age over time. This product is of a rustic nature and is designed to both look and feel as if it has been in use for many years. Ordinarily when regularly used, this product develops it's own patina, but should you wish to afford additional protection, we recommend Maintenance Wax be applied, which will give the iron a protective seal against any moisture.

The finish is left unlacquered for authenticity. This product is created using genuine cast iron.
