Requirement: This listed building required the approval of English Heritage before the steel security door could be installed.
This classic front door is part of one of London’s many listed buildings and therefore required a range of approvals to be changed. The residents, however, decided for good reasons of their own to opt for a high security door which they thought might prevent the approval they needed.
The replication of the initial design and style with, in this case, a Georgian-style wooden cladding, meant that there were no problems at all. The company has worked with planning authorities to ensure planning permission is rarely a problem. The most important factor is that that Kensington Security Doors & Windows doors can have “Secured by Design” status and both doors and windows have to conform sympathetically to the original look and design of the building.
" A lot of front doors in London have individual locks on them which increases your time to unlock each one on the doorstep and makes you vulnerable. If you use one of our doors, there are up to 7 locking points but only one keyhole which operates all locking points at the turn of the key. Our doors save you time and minimise your exposure. We can even install motorised locks so that you can press the remote control as you approach your home and your door will be unlocked when you reach it. Bear in mind also that they have much better than average thermal and acoustic insulation on properties. "
