Project details:
Interior seating built to exterior standards (to meet the demands of this busy atrium) was the brief for the new Sixth Form extension at Dartford Grammar School. Furthermore, seating needed to be both straight and curved, freestanding so as not to damage the new floor surfacing, and be reasonably priced standard products rather than expensive bespoke designs. Needless to say, the product also had to be of a style that worked well within this contemporary building. After discussion with the project architect, it was concluded that Furnitubes’ Veeva seating range met all this criteria and would be best suited to the scheme. Nine individual bench modules were supplied in total, arranged in singles, pairs and threes over the two floors of the atrium and study areas to the new building extension. Steelwork was polyester powder coated deep grey to match the carpet and other interior fittings, with the iroko timber bench slats supplied in a smooth planed natural finish.
